Here is our living room. I’ve had these colours for quite some time and I wanted to create a bit more contrast in the room.
We got these glass and metal nesting tables and lamps years ago and I had wanted to change things up so I listed them on Marketplace and they were gone right away.
It was great because I was able to use the money from the sale of those items towards the purchase of these tables at HomeSense, some cute pillows at IKEA and a set of lamps at Bouclair. I wasn’t 100% on board with the lampshade that came with the lamp, so I found white ones to brighten up the space a bit more.

And then . . . the second wave of COVID hit so it sat like that for a while. I’m not a huge online shopper…I like to see things in person before buying them for our house.
So I had been waiting…and waiting…and waaaaaaiting when finally I couldn’t wait anymore! Around Valentine’s Day, I got in the mood to make a change and then I remembered I had almost a full gallon of matte black paint from a small project I did a few months ago in our front hall closet. I loved the drama of the dark colour.
(Pretty, right?!)

So we cleared out the room and got to work painting a feature wall which can be found in the video below.
I went to HomeSense a couple weeks ago and found this amazing mirror and beautiful picture. I remembered a couple of shelves and picture frames I had still in boxes from our move a while ago and then I grabbed some accessories from other places in the house to pull it all together.
And here is the new look!
